The powerful enterprise-class TES-1885U, powered by an Intel Xeon® D processor, has two operating systems, and can be used with either the FreeBSD-based QES or the Linux-based QTS. While QES supports ZFS for utmost reliability and allows capturing close to unlimited number of snapshots, block-level data duplication and real-time data compression, QTS is equipped with Qtier technology, SSD cache and a host of apps that provide added value realize storage efficiency and diverse use applications. The TES-1885U offers the flexibility to choose between two operating systems so that companies can deploy appropriate operating systems on multiple TES-1885U units based on their needs and goals at different stages.
NOTE!
1. In order to be able to change NAS operating systems after complete configuration, the hard drives must be re-initialized and all stored data deleted. A remote backup is required before the NAS operating system can be changed.
2. Fiber Channel support is available from QTS 4.4.1 (or later), but is not supported by QES.
